We started Happy Planet Initiative through which we are doing good work to help fellow Human beings, Wild Life and Environment.
Under RR’s Happy Planet Initiative, on 11the June 2016 ,2017 & 2018 we distributed food packets to construction workers on the eve of holy month of Ramadan and bring awareness to eliminate food wastage, reduce the waste that goes to landfills, reduce carbon footprint and save the planet from global warming. We also donated clothes to the needy in U.A.E & INDIA.

Rahul & Rohan Raju’s Save Wildlife campaign 2018
Rahul & Rohan were invited to exhibit their Artworks at Emirates Natural History Group (ENHG) 40th anniversary graced by HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
The ENHG, the oldest non-governmental organisation (NGO) dealing with environmental topics in the United Arab Emirates, provides an active and progressive forum, for experts and enthusiasts alike. The Abu Dhabi chapter was the first chapter, established in 1976 other Chapters operate in Al Ain, Dubai and Fujairah.
As the UAE celebrates the ‘Year of Zayed’, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the country’s founding father, it is appropriate that the Emirates Natural History Group is at the same time marking its 40th anniversary, the Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, said.
The main aim of the ENHG is to encourage and assist members and other interested individuals in the study and appreciation of the natural history and archaeology of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East and the world at large.
Roots and Shoots Award Ceremony 2018
Rahul & Rohan exhibited their Artworks at Roots & Shoots Award ceremony graced by Dr. Jane Goodall.
Dr. Jane Goodall, English primatologist and anthropologist. Considered to be the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees, Goodall is best known for her over 55-year study of social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees since she first went to Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania in 1960. She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots programme, and she has worked extensively on conservation and animal welfare issues. She has served on the board of the Nonhuman Rights Project since its founding in 1996. In April 2002, she was named a UN Messenger of Peace.

Rahul & Rohan were invited to exhibit their artworks at The Festival-Masdar City and bring awareness about sustainability, renewable energy and save environment.
The largest sustainability gathering in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) is dedicated to furthering our understanding of the major social, economic and environmental trends shaping the world’s sustainable development, and to empowering the global community to realise viable and effective strategies to mitigate climate change.
The theme of ADSW 2018 is Driving the Global Energy Transformation.
In 2017, ADSW welcomed over 38,000 participants from 175 countries, in an effort to:
- Tackle the world’s pressing issues in energy, water and environment
- Accelerate the global adoption of renewable energy and sustainable development
- Address water challenges in arid regions
- Elevate the water-energy nexus topics on the global agenda
- Encourage the dialogue between broad industry stakeholders to strengthen strategic partnerships
- Stimulate investment in water, energy and environment projects
- Empower the young generations and entrepreneurs
This year, between 13th and 20th January 2018, ADSW once again, brought world leaders, policy makers, thought leaders, decision makers, experts, scientists, business leaders and academics together to discuss, debate, and ultimately address the energy and sustainability challenges of the future. Anchored by the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), the 2018 programme featured a series of complementary events, conferences and exhibitions, including: The International Water Summit; The Abu Dhabi Renewable Energy Conference; The Zayed Future Energy Prize Award Ceremony; The International Renewable Energy Agency meeting; and Eco waste.

Rahul and Rohan participated in ReThink Plastic Campaign to increase awareness of the harmful effects of plastic pollution
Plastic bags only serve their purpose for an average of 30 minutes before they are thrown away. This leads to huge amounts of plastic waste ending up in nature every year. Global studies tell us plastic waste causes death over 100,000 marine animals and 1 million marine birds every year.
To raise awareness about the devastating impact of plastic pollution, Yas Mall is partnering with the Emirates Wildlife Society, World Wildlife Fund and the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, for its ‘Rethink Plastic’ campaign. From 12 – 15 Sept, Yas Mall visitors can exchange plastic bags for eco-friendly shopping bags and make a visible commitment to reduce plastic waste by making a pledge.
‘Rethink Plastic’ aims to increase awareness of the harmful effects of plastic pollution, the consequences of throwing away plastic bags and how households can change the growing problem of unnecessary waste.
Rahul & Rohan Raju’s Paper Collection-Abu Dhabi (2017,2018)
EEG appreciated Rahul and Rohan’s (EEG Members) efforts in Earth Hour event and especially towards the “Paper Walk Challenge” that resulted in the collection of 5,483 kg of paper which contributed to saving 93 trees from being felled and mitigated 21 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
The “Neighbourhood Recycling Project” (NRP) was launched in 2010 exclusively for the student members of EEG. Under the project the student members were asked to prepare a flyer and use it to contact 20 neighbouring families to collect 150 – 200 Kg of Papers for recycling. Once they achieved the target, they were provided a letter stating their achievements.
As the project was successful, EEG decided to make this into an annual event under the name “Neighbourhood Recycling Project”. Till 2011, the student members who achieved the set target under this project received a Certificate of Participation and also an indigenous tree to plant under their name in one of the public places in the UAE. In 2012, it was decided that, the student members have an option to collect any of the recyclables including Paper, Battery, Mobile Phones, Toners, Plastic, Beverage Cartons and Aluminium Cans. Upon completion of the project, the student members were asked to submit the details of the families they contacted to ensure they are actively engaging the community.

Rahul & Rohan donated new clothes for Kerala flood victims(India)19th Aug 2018
Beginning on 9 August 2018, severe floods affected the south Indian state of Kerala, due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century.
According to the Kerala government, one-sixth of the total population of Kerala had been directly affected by the floods and related incidents. The Indian government had declared it a Level 3 Calamity, or “calamity of a severe nature”. It is the worst flood in Kerala after the great flood of 99 that took place in 1924.

The environment remained Sheikh Zayed’s central focus till the end of his lifetime. In his speech at the 32nd anniversary of the UAE union, Sheikh Zayed said, “Since the formation of our nation, we have worked on the protection of the environment, conservation of wildlife and establishing all the necessary laws and regulations, programmes and projects that have made the UAE a pioneer in the field of environment.
This has also made the UAE a model to be followed globally in the field of environment in regard to its protection and conservation.”
