Malaria: A Set of 3 Resources

This is a set of three shorter resources on the theme of malaria. Each resource is designed to take a single lesson to complete.

More about these Resources

These resources cover a number of topics around the disease malaria, including what the disease is, how it is transmitted and the effects that it has on both individuals and communities. They can all be carried out in order but as each resource is designed to stand alone you can also select just one of them to e.g. fit in with other themes that are being taught in the school.

In these activities you and your students will:

  • Learn about malaria: what it is, how it is spread and who is at risk.
  • Learn about the life cycle of the malaria parasite Plasmodium.
  • Discuss how the life cycle can be disrupted to prevent or treat malaria.
  • Learn about the effects of malaria on individuals, families and communities.
  • Optional: Create a wall chart all about malaria to display at school.
  • Optional: Raise funds to help in the fight against malaria.

Can you Improve these Resources?

We welcome ideas on how to improve our resources. If you have tried using these resources and have some thoughts on how to improve it please follow the instructions given in the documents.
