Eco – Summit – Al Nahda National School Of Abu Dhabi

Introduction:

My Friends and I recently attended a summit on aquaponics and hydroponics at Al Nahda School in Abu Dhabi. The summit was an eye-opener for me and gave me a new perspective on the future of agriculture and farming. In this report, I will share my experience and the lessons I learned from the summit.

The Summit:

The summit was held in the school auditorium and was attended by farmers, agricultural scientists, students, and teachers. The event had several speakers who shared their knowledge on aquaponics and hydroponics. The speakers used slides, videos, and other interactive means to present their ideas.

Aquaponics and Hydroponics:

Aquaponics is a system of agriculture that combines aquaculture (raising aquatic animals) with hydroponics (growing plants without soil). In this system, fish are raised in a tank, and their waste is used as nutrients for the plants, which are grown in water. The plants, in turn, purify the water for the fish. Hydroponics, on the other hand, is a system that uses nutrient-enriched water to grow plants. Unlike aquaponics, there are no fish involved in this system, and it does not require soil for growing plants. Hydroponics is useful for growing plants in areas with limited land and poor soil quality.

Lessons Learned:

One of the main takeaways from the summit was that aquaponics and hydroponics are sustainable and efficient methods of agriculture. These systems use less water than traditional farming methods and produce higher yields. Additionally, they are not affected by weather conditions and can be used to grow food all year round.

Conclusion:

Attending the aquaponics and hydroponics summit at Al Nahda School was a wonderful experience. The lessons I learned from the summit have given me a newfound respect for these innovative agricultural methods. I believe that these systems have the potential to revolutionize the way we grow food and address food security challenges.
