Restore Our Earth

 ‘Restore Our Earth’

On the occasion of the 51st Earth Day, the school’s eco-club, Bhavans Natura conducted virtual celebration based on the theme “Restore Our  Earth”. The program held for grades 1-9 included a series of competitions and presentations emphasizing the importance of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Teachers, students and parents alike worked together to make this possible. The main highlight of the day was ‘The Tree Planting Ceremony’, which encouraged students to plant at least a single tree in their vicinity. Parents also partook in the occasion, taking Selfie with nature as to show that all hope is not lost and that we can make a difference if we have the willpower.

Some of the events held were:

  • Seed Art for students of grade 1 and 2.
  • Poem writing for students of grade 3 and 4.
  • Eco – Friendly Door Mat making for students of grade 5 and 6
  • Video Making for students of grade 7, 8 and 9.
  • Selfie with Nature for parents of Grade 1 – Grade 5.

Another focus of the function was the presentation on 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations and the UAE Agenda 2030. As well as the efforts of our school to fulfil and empower these goals. It enhanced students with various skills like team spirit, collaboration, problem solving, Critical thinking, Environmental awareness and many more.

The speech delivered by the  Principal , Madam Girija Baiju was inspiring and encouraging. The voice of the vice Principal, Mr. Suresh V Balakrishnan has energized us. The eco club coordinator, Madam Usha Kumari galvanized students to perpetrate roles and responsibilities to save the environment.  Our program coordinators Ms. Pushpa, Ms Anila, Ms Shruthi, CCA cordinator, Ms. Jana, panel of judges, and all other teachers deserved a big salute to make the event a grant success. The role played by the senior students, Sreelakshmi, grade 10, Meenakshi  and Askhita Kanna, grade 12 is pivotal in mentoring the Master ceremonies of the event.

The main objectives of this program was to fuel the journey of eco warriors to Restore our  Mother Earth and salute her for her unconditional love and care.
